small or large sound it donst matter i m kept awake easly by sound
i cant even sleep when theres all the crikets at night
chirping now to some that is a relaxing sound to em that means hell had came to earth becase of to much lack of sleep
top that off i live in possible one of the noisest places in my town that there is to live wich has a trainstation that has not only passenger trains but frieght trans as well and a tornado siren and a fire deparment/rescue squad house o and there aslo inconsiderate ppl who blast there car radio's base all the time aaaaand its tends to have lots of rain and thunderstorms that basicly dose the same to me as crickets dose
i know for shure i have sencitive ears but the soliutions arnt clear becase
im afriad of using headphones and ear plugs to much bottom line HELP im loosing lots of sleep and its all becase of the nosy enviroment i live in =-"('.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!
This one makes a constant fan sound that is loud enough to block out most normal sounds you would encounter. Most white noise machines make sounds of rivers or oceans, those would torture me when trying to sleep, but the one I bought is just a mechanically generated fan sound and its very powerful and makes it much easier for me to sleep
There is no way to block every sound, this device wont block a train, but its loud enough to block anything I ever encountered.
I hope this helps, my experience with sound sensitivities proves this machine can solve problems like this.
What whyamistillalive suggested about white noise is very good advice. I have a hepa filter that helps drown out the noise and is very soothing; it does help me stay asleep once I'm asleep, but it doesn't really help me get to sleep because I have chronic insomnia.
