Asperger Syndrome Support Group
Asperger syndrome - also referred to as Asperger's syndrome, Asperger's, Aspergers or just AS - is one of five neurobiological pervasive developmental disorders (PDD), and is characterized by deficiencies in social and communication skills, normal to above normal intelligence, and standard language development.
I'm finding myself feeling completely overwhelmed by daily life. It all can just be so overwhelming. It's just I go through my life seeing so many neurotypicals doing things so easily that come hard to me. For example
1. Forming friendships socializing has become meaningless to me it always fails I don't think I've ever successfully had a real friend in so tired of looking.
2. Church it's so hard for me every Sunday or Saturday to make it there deal with a sensory overwhelming environment and sit still and then after deal with the small talk after I just want to go home when it's over. Church feels more like work then a happy place. It feels more like just another place to struggle and have more social rules to memorize. It's like another place where I have to put on an act of being a good religious church member
3. hair cuts can be hard they can be sensory overwhelming. Eye exams can be overstimulahing to.
4. regular doctors appointments aren't that bad but they can be difficult with the socializing with the doctor.
work can be a challenge to especially having to keep up with all of the social rules of the work environment coming home to my family after a long day and have more socializing. Now don't get me wrong I'm greatful to have a family but it's tough to keep my social energy up to have good interactions. Sometimes all I want is a peaceful quiet dinner to end the day. I have depression and anxiety and struggle with emotional dissociation as I learned in therapy recently so thoes things can be a double punch. Sometimes I worry I'm not going about my therapy sessions the right way. I know this is alot but sometimes every day life just gets me so overwhelmed it just feels like my mind is overwhelmed to the point it's hard to function. Sleep can be challenging to I can struggle with insomnia and sometimes resisting sleep. Sometimes I'm so tired by the end of the day it feels hard to even want to get ready for bed. I know this is all a lot I just needed a place to express how overwhelming life feels sometimes.

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
Mega, Silent Hugs and Prayers for Peace and Healing in your life to come once you learn how to create boundaries for yourself....meaning You Don't Have To be a social butterfly interacting with church members or your family for that matter.
My son says to me "I'm On Empty" and I don't say a word to him, just let him do his thing, what ever reduces his anxiety level. Maybe you could talk to your M/D and let them know you need at least an hour on your own after a day at work.
For Church, maybe sit at the back of the church in an isle seat so you can leave during service...bathroom break :).... ask for car keys so you can just leave and sit in the car on your own after service until your family is ready to leave.
My son Hated to have his hair cut, so he has a shaver/trimmer and cuts his own hair and has a beard/mustache so he's not so Open meaning facial expressions.
I think even typical people have challenges to day, you are ahead of the game, as you are aware. Maybe write down your strengths and your challenges, bring that list to your therapist and ask for support to learn coping skills.
