If there's one thing I don't understand as an autistic person is why everyone seems to love humor so much. To me it almost seems like an obsession. I asked this question on quora and was met with rude answers like people saying they don't care what I think or diagnosing me as narcissistic. Maybe I was too blunt in my question asking. I've made this mistake on another question I asked and was told I was sub human filth. I guess I shouldn't ask so many questions on quora. That's why I decided to ask here I've found a lot more nice people here then on quora. It's just people almost seem to be obsessed with humor and I don't get it. I really can't think of anything I find that funny. Even autistic people describe things they find funny and I can't do that. It's like I can't really see humor in anything. I find it strange other people seem to crave humor and a good laugh and I don't really crave thoes things. Sure I've laughed at things I won't deny that but I can't really see humor in them. Just wondering if anybody understands what I'm saying or understands the seemingly universal love of humor.

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
They find it difficult to understand my emotion based thinking and sometimes ,many timesWe clash....
Still love them though
Still so much to learn
Like any subject,if somebody doesn,t understand,A way to learn is to ask.
And thats what you did
livingly, I'm so sorry to read you were treated so unkindly by other people. Sadly, people today seem to be so wrapped up in themselves and think they can express anything to anyone the way they want...I don't agree with that one tiny bit.
As for humor, well that's a funny thing from both sides...my son can be funny with what is interesting to him...he can laugh hysterically at a utube video...... as far as laughter and humor goes, coming from my perspective life is challenging, there are a lot of horrible things going on in the world today ... it's hard for me to see so much happening that I have no control over.
For me, laughter expresses 'fun, happy, enjoyment' and it's also a way to reduce anxiety.
Then there is another type of laughter that might be harder to understand. Sometimes when people just don't know what to say, feel nervous, or are in an unfamiliar situation they may laugh at something that is not funny, but as a way to reduce stress.
Take Good Care
