found that navigating a huge spiral staircase was something of a disconcerting challenge. would take a couple of steps, find myself feeling like I was going to trip, going toward the inside railing. somehow I managed and no one noticed, do we want attention and no one wants to give it??

I, and all three of my boys each have a unique walk, none like the others.

I'm an impatient person, and used to live eight miles from my job. Many years ago, I found myself without a car, and could not afford a cab, so I started hitching to work. Sometimes I didn't get any rides at all, so I learned to leave three to four hours before I had to be there. If I was late, I had to walk a lot faster.

I never realized until then that I didn't really swing my arms while walking. I only started doing it because, quite simply, you can walk a LOT faster if you do as it helps you keep your balance.

I'm a very impatient person these days, so I tend to walk swinging my arms just so i can get where I'm going faster.

I don't think anyone thinks my gait is odd anymore.

By it certainly used to be.
