Yes we have.... our son started picking at his skin.... if there was a sore or NOT..... as he has gotten older and with a Medication change this behavior has stopped....

i had to take him to the Hospital one time due to a whole separate incident, and they had alot of questions about why his arms looked they way they did.... it wasn't a pleasant situation for me, then he started doing it in front of them... then they understood....

I have learned not to point out certain things he does because for some reason it triggers him to do it more.... GOOD LUCK!!! :)

Try exploring his interests, getting him to pursue things which require his full concentration. With those types of behaviors, concentrating on external activities can lessen the frequency of said behavior.

I chew on my skin on my fingers and toes, so yes. I've experienced it.

My son also used to close a door 3 times before he would walk away from it...... :)

My son chews his sleeves. I cant tell you how many of his shirts look like the puppy got to them. I've noticed he does it when he zones out. This usually happens at school but sometimes at home if he gets overstimulated.

when i was younger i used to chew on my sleeves, my hair, fingernails, and toenails. i still bite my fingernails down to nubs, sometimes making them painful. my hair has been short for a few years now, so that habit has been broken too. i remember also when i did that as a kid that i would stare off into space, zoning out for minutes at a time. i don't know why i recall this happening, since i have forgotten alot of my childhood, lol.
