knee replacement problem

I had a total knee replacement about 2 and half years ago... For the last week or so when I sleep it locks straight... I wake up in pain and have to bend it by pulling it up with my hands or my husband helps me... anyone else experience this? thanks.. paula

I had my LTKR about 18 mo ago. I have the same problem. It hurts to bend it. I cry out in my sleep & while awake when it locks up. I had to have surg to break up scar tiss but @ the end of the day it hurts.Its still better than it was but I am considering going to another surgeon. Not for surg unless its minor. I would like to know why its still hurting. A lot of people I know that have had it have no pain.Maybe you should have another surgeon check it out. Good luck!

yes id go back to doc and another one if u feel first one not ok, are u doing strethening exercises? have u done them since day 1? its important to do exercises and strtgh muscles and bend it?

is it swollen, do u stand on it alot? all things i would answer for self and then se doctor im 9 mnths out from 2nd tkr and have had pains here and there but its given me my life back so im very grateful
