linda50 , I have the same problem with the Sjogren's group. I posted a question weeks ago and not one response. Makes you feel like your questions aren't very important doesn't it. Most of the time I'm just wondering if anyone else has some of the same symptoms that I have and if it;s associated with Sjogren's or if it doesn't have anything to do with it.

I belong here on this blog, but I often do not have or know of most of the other peoples arthritis problems.

Maybe you could start another group under a different name?

I had wanted to start a group on joint replacement, but DS said it was
not possible at that time.

I have also experienced problems (other groups included).
I think when you're sick, sometimes it's hard to keep-up, you know?
I'm looking up Sjogren's right now...thanks for the information and the comments with problems. Both help.

Does anyone have arthritis of the hands only. I don't have it any where but my hands. It's awful...typing this is painful.

It never quits hurting or aching. I take Lyrica for my diabetic neuropathy but it does not help my hands. I cannot take aspirin because I have COPD.

Reckon I am a mess but if anyone can offer any tips...I'm listening.

Granny I just jumped back over here tonight to mention that I am now having pain in one of my fingers on left hand....just one joint on index finger of left hand...not my dominant hand but yes it hurts a bunch and I do not have pain pills at all right now because I had a Total Knee replacement and am done with the need for them....but this finger thing sucks and I am sorry your having it in your hands...because they do not do joint replacements in fingers....

My mom and I talked about it...she has the knots on her fingers from Arthritis but she said she does not have any pain...I mentioned her Aunt Ruth had knots all over her hands from it which is where I learned about arthritis.....she could not recall aunt ruths hands but I sure do...they had huge knuckle knots.....I am sure it hurt her too....

sorry I have not stopped by for a while....you have to remember that this is a voluntary supportive group and not everyone comes daily five to ten times a day....I do but I usually do not come here because very little posting goes on in this group kind of like some other slow groups too....if nobody is willing to share nobody is going to post.....

My fathers hands as well as most of his body is full of arthritis. I bought him last father's day these eating utensils that are extra fat. Now he doesn't drop them like before. It is a lot easier for him to eat with them. He was thrilled with them.

I am guilty of not answering because I either have nothing to say or because I don't feel I have a right to. I don't go to doctors for my arthritis because I was fed up with them years ago for many reasons. One was I didn't have insurance all the time. The doctors I liked are all gone now! They were rare in that they didn't do what was best for them to make the most money and they were honest about what they understood or not. So when I was looking to find out about the bumpy painful joints in my hands and hip pain, I had no insurance and was going to a clinic. They would send me to places that had long lines or other problems. One didn't want to deal with me at all! Another was incompetent when it came to filling out proper paper for lab requests. And none requested x-rays for any of my joint problems. I could go on but that would take too long! As of now I can see bumps forming in some of my toes and if I am standing for a while they will swell and start to cut off circulation if I don't put my feet up. I take otc meds only if it is unbearable. I have always tried not to take pain meds for anything if I could manage to fall asleep at night and move good enough in the day. I only work a few days a month with my husband but don't have to. It's mostly just to get out of the house. He says I am a big help and wants me to go as much as I want. He says it makes the day go faster and also saves him some pain. He has ddd and other problems but is like me, so he hates taking pain meds. Until this last year that is. Now he finds he has to take them more often. His doctor says he doesn't know how my husband is still standing no matter walking! LOL! That is kind of scary too! Well I think because we sucked it up for so many years, we are not used to pain meds and can take less than some.
There are new advances in healing joints that i hope will be available to us and we can afford them soon. But if not, I will be thankful for what we do have. Pain free (((HUGS)))

I fell on the 21st of March, went to the ER then had to go to the Ortho. I fractured my right wrist, so I was in a cast for 2 weeks, then a Brace for 3 weeks...no it hurts , aches and I don't know what to do for it. I have am appt next month with my family Doc I hope he can come up with something.

Last night I dreamed I fell again and this morning I hurt all over. Had to use my walker to get around. I wondered if I had another TIA...I have had several in the past.

Thanks for any info you all can give me. I will try anything to stop the pain in my hand.

I have a fear that the next time it rains here I will be shoved up all over....lol.

I think with this group there are so many different places that can be
affected that if one that does not have that particular pain they do not want to answer because they have not experienced it.

I have problems with my hands especially my left upper thumb right before my wrist. I have a knot there that sort of comes and goes. Comes lately more than goes. It burns sometimes. I also have the knots on my first knuckles. An am getting them on the second ones. Most of the time they are just really stiff. I work in a retail store and have to take sensors of clothing all the time and I keep wondering when it will get bad enough in my hands that I can't remove the sensors. Then I probably couldn't do my job as I am a cashier and take a lot of them off all day. I also have arthritis in my back, hip and feet. The feet really are bad. Getting rid of really good shoes one pair at a time as I try them on and have to pull them off. No use keeping them as it won't get better. The doctor wondered at first if I had RA but I checked negative. Now when I complain about pain and stiffness he just looks at my hands and says"you have osteo arthritis and that's it. Like "Live with It". I do take celebrex. Just switched from meloxicam. Not sure there's much difference except I've been on meloxicam for a long time and maybe I needed a change. I also took plaquneil but he took me off that too. I'm lucky to be able to work so far. I am 67. I'm better off working if I can. If I sit even for 10 0r 15 minutes, I'm so stiff that I can hardly get up and walk. It's awful to get up at night to go to the bathroom. Feet are so stiff. I'm better if I'm up moving.

Thank you for the responses. I guess my best bet is going to be steroid shots in these hands. I have diabetes so my blood sugar goes crazy but that is OK to get rid of this pain. I'll talk with the Doc and see if that might be a plan for me.

The way my hands hurt and at my age (83)...I will try most anything.

Good luck grannie and jewl12. I take curcumin and fish oil and I think
it helps me a little. I can feel the difference when I stop taking them.
