Hi everybody..
For months I've been trying to figure out what's going on with me. I believe I have Psoriac Arthrits but I have to wait until October to see a Rheumatologist and my GP is not very helpful.
I've have always been told that rashes are just Eczema. I've had symptoms of Psoriasis since I was 6 years old. It started on the back of my ears. As I got older these rashes have shown up and reappeared all over several parts of my body. I've been using cortisone creams forever and they just don't work anymore. I recently had a baby almost 8 months ago. Durning my pregnancy my rashes became horrendous and a month post partum my rashes became unbearable! I believe I have inverse psoriasis along with some other type as I get itchy scaly rashes on my eyelids, in my eye brows, hairline, chest, elbows, legs, hands, under arms, lady parts, natal clef and under my boobs. The last 4 have been so bad since January I wanted to cut my skin off.. It itched to the bone.
I'm seeing a new doctor and all she looked at was my elbows and said it was eczema?!? Even though I complained more about other parts.
I've also had pain in several parts of my body. Started in my feet. I had a bunion correct on 1 foot 3 years ago already and my toes on tht foot are now turning to the right. The toe feels like it has never really healed from surgery and is often visibly swollen. The other big toe on the other foot is not as painful but 2 months ago out of the blue grew a big cyst on top of the first knuckle. GP says it's probably just a ganglion cyst.
I hands are the most effected recently for the past year and few months ago I couldn't use my left hand anymore because of the pain and swelling. It's now better but still tender and coincidently my rashes have dissipated and I'm clearing up. I'd like to mention I also have mid to lower back pain, hip pain, knee pain and wrist pain. I've had these pains on and off for years but haven't gotten help for anything thinking I had just over done things. I like to be active. Golf, yoga, hiking, skiing..
My immunoglobulin A was really high but all other blood tests like anti ccp RF ANA were all negative. On my sixth week of waiting for ENA results.
So after all that I'm wondering what I should do next? I was wondering if I should request an MRI or something similar or a referral to a Dermatologist to get a Paoriasis diagnosis?!
I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired and feeling like I'm being dismissed! If this is Psoriac Arthritis and is going to get worse and I continue to lose the ability to walk or use or extremities I'm not going to be ok with that. My mom has MS.. I was worried it could be that but I don't have the symptoms! Any suggestions or thoughts?!

Hi... I was just looking for support groups and came across this site. I was just diagnosed with NHL specifically Folicular Lymphoma (Large B-Cell type) and I guess it would just be nice to talk to people who have been through this. I'm 28 F and I'm a new mom, my life has changed drastically in the last two years and now this diagnosis has really gotten me down...I had a CT scan done last week...
In my desperate moments, I send my blood work for IgG food Intolerance test. The results were shocking. I began to eliminate those problem foods. The itch subsides in 3 weeks, skin began to clear and healed. Joint pains disappeared in 2 weeks. I am a new person. Now hv beautiful skin, lush hair. Except for my left ankles still hv some scaring psorasis, i am otherwise 95 % healed.
Try and look into your diet. It could be the cause.
I'm a little worried about the Plaquenil as it's been seen to cause a huge psoriasis flare so I'm not sure if she's trying to flush out a Psoriac arthritis diagnosis or what.
I'm also being sent to see a gastroenterologist as IBD is also suspected with my symptoms of hair lose canker sores and weight loss. Along with high IGA.
So it's a waiting game right now!
I would get a referral to get some allergy testing too. You may have food intolerance like Maxirose experienced.
And that may also explain the Gi problems you have.
It's incredible what a food intolerance or allergy can do to someone.
Not saying it's the total cause of your problem but it may exacerbate whatever is going on.
If you feel the Plaquinil is increasing skin problem I would contact doctor and tell them. ASAP. I'm not sure that the aim here is to make things worse for you.
Ask the doc questions. ask why The drug they prescribe. What is the drug's purpose., what is it meant to do. What are you to expect in the way of side effects. etc. How long before seeing any change if any. Some drugs are fast acting. Some take a few weeks before results are seen. Arm yourself. On visits take down notes. Have questions ready. Even if you feel it's a silly question. Just ask and talk about your concerns. If you have a hunch about something. Mention it. If you want allergy testing. Ask for it.
I wish you all the very best and you find answers and relief soon.
