Cardiac arrhythmia is a group of conditions in which the muscle contraction of the heart is irregular or is faster or slower than normal. Some arrhythmias are life-threatening medical emergencies that can cause cardiac arrest and sudden death. Others cause aggravating symptoms, such as an awareness of a different heart beat, or palpitation, which can be annoying.

I have pvc's and pac's. Have had since i was 15 and am now 40. Lately tho, they are seemingly worse. Almost doesnt feel like pvc's or pac's, feels as if my heart just totally gets out of rythym (sp) and almost feels as if im going to pass out...or die...it doesnt last long usually but it seems like it lasts forever..been to cardio, had ekg, 30 day holter, echo, calcium scan score was 0 which is supposed to be the best you can get, and everything is fine they say my heart function is like the heart of a 18 year old...well why does it feel like im gonna die when it does this flip flopping thing in my chest?? Can anyone relate...please respond...im constantly plagued with thoughts and wondering when it is gonna happen again..it is really having a debilitating affect on my life...as to where i go and things that i do...my life kinda sucks rt now!!

I too have been having irregular heart beats for 20 years, when it first started when I was around 40 yrs. old they were called ectopic beats and although bothersome, were not as scary as the ones I get now. I can just be sitting and its like my breath has been taken away from me and I feel a little weak from it but I don't feel a big thump of my heart or much of anything sometimes. I've had most the tests you can have, and the same story from the doctor not to worry. I can feel the thump of the heart sometimes and I'm guessing the other thing that takes my breath away is a pausing. Sometimes when I've questioned what I felt when I had a monitor on, the doctor doesn't see it . I wonder how good those things are.
I am an anxious person which these things don't help, I've found taking Klonopin helpful for me, it relaxes me so I can deal with them better. I've never taken any heart meds. I hope everyone can find something that works for them, or a cure would be nice!

Hey all!!! I'm still hanging in....still feel the skips and thumps a lot and now very rapid and hard heartbeat at times but I'm trying not to complain..... u guys just hang in there with me and we will pull thru...I'm at work right now and pretty sure I'm having a Panic attack right now because of my heart....trying to settle myself down...Love u all and any of u can inbox me if ya just need someone to talk to.....

You might ask your doc about using a beta blocker. They are not for everyone. But when the palps start they usually help me.

Hi . I have e that 2 pvc sometimes they go completly away. I have had them since I was 30 scared me to death. went to a Dr. he explained it to me. N ow I,am 60 and I have had (2) new kind. I, have high anxiety I take m eds for it. Well I had just got done talking to my sister came in the bedroom was usi ng the computer all of a sudden it feels like I have palpation but it feels like my heart is stoping then my whole body felt weird like panic attac k then I had another one the other day . It scares me. iI had a c omplete heart work up like you found nothing and I don ,t take HBP Meds. I hate them. but have you ever had that???. hugs
