counsellor suggested picturing a stop sign and if you are alone yell STOP as you see the sign. sounds a bit odd but works. Another is focusing on regular objects around the house and just picturing them and their function.
the best for me...what % will that thing happen? I had my last car 10 years....hmm ran it 360 days a year, stop and start again, to work, to lunch, to home, to errands. so 4 x a day, minimum x 3600 days.... I think I got stuck with a dead battery once...so, once in 12000 plus times. Just working thru the % sure can calm me down. and IF I do get stuck, got AAA and a cell phone. So why do I every waste time worrying. Hope at least one of the suggestions can help. Try to live in the moment...called the 'present' for a reason.

It could be said, "Sometime there is you can do on it.". Well ahem I have learned from watching fussy ppl and watching obsessive perfectionists. Such a one when polishing th' gas cap, has there a chance to think further about what kind of petrol should be best for his vehicle and what station he can trust.
So, *do something about it* is my idea here.
Class starting soon?, you said : I knew a med student who bought one textbook the second the bookstore got it in. And carried it everywhere/read every spare moment.
Getting a head start -- asking teacher for syllabus or course outline -- IMHO would make sense. . . . . Boy Scout motto:be pre-..cosmic.
Uh, no that's not right! . . :)~
But if nothing bothers at some moment, do not have a list to refer to. Do not keep a list of worries.
