Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I have suffered for 40+ years with asnxiety/depression. A few years back I volunteered to talk to infirmed patients at a hospital and as it turns out I excelled at it. Turns out I my need to became a better listener helped me in pushing back my own issues and focus on whatever was being told to me. Well, I am going to conduct a group meeting today at a local retirement home. Since waking a few hours ago I pushed myself into so great a panic that I was going to cancel. A sharp social worker at the facility I called to cancel with somehow copnvinced me to give it a go.
I had ther occassion to be a resident in such a home for a few months and know the lonliness and general feeling of dread that environment brings. I have new found cofidence in that I will be of benefit to the residents i am about to meet this afternoon. This could be the start of my dealing with social anxiety andloneliness. Had to shout out. WISH ME LUCK!

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
It is a win win for everyone and I LOVE it.
I wish you all the best and for you to enjoy yourself :)
Congrats on overcoming the anxiety which threatened to derail the good works.
Well done, DJ. Congratulations.
Pat yourself on the back for a job well done.
I work with small audiences......I'm a hairdresser, so my small audience is captive for an hour or sometimes 3 hours....lol.
I can talk up a storm with my small audience, but once drooled all over myself in front of a classroom full of teens many years ago.
I have thought about making a youtube channel as I'm better at behind the scenes kinds of stuff, plus with youtube, you can edit mistakes.
I volunteer twice a month for a battered womens/children shelter sorting clothing at their warehouse of donated clothes. I have met some really nice folks. Volunteering is so rewarding as is working with ppl. However, I am not much of a ppl person.
I worked at a funeral home for 30 years.....retired 4 years ago, so my audience was pretty quiet.....good listeners :P
Anywho......congrats and enjoy the accomplishment!
