Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
One way or another it looks like the world I know is crashing. I scares me.
I have been having anxiety attachs but it isn't the attack that bothers me, so it never gets bad. I make a point to calm down, just currently I am having real anxiety over very bad, real issues.
Feelin so out of control has me trying to find ways to take control of my life. It is a big motivator because I don't want want to be like this.
Literally being SO incapacitated has been a motivating factor in my decision making and in my choices. For example I am very dependent on my husband. I am a stay at home mom. He is having problems that make him not act like a husband, and he may not be able to hold a job for long.
So, what do I do now to not be in this kind of situation? Well, I am putting what I can in motion so if everything does go wrong, we have a plan. Honestly having a working half when that is stable is comforting, when it is not, distressing, and this is just one issue that has risen up recently. It isn't a control issue at all. It is my issue w/ how I've been dealing w/ reality.

Whenever we desire something too much. A raise, to be thought attractive, for things to go 'okay' at a doctor's visit or a date, etc. The more we feel we MUST have something go our way, the more we worry. This is why relationships are so difficult - we desire something from the other person so badly that we cannot help but think about whether or not we will actually get it or not (this is NOT love, but something else). Solution to this one? Let go of HAVING TO HAVE your desires - accept the possibility that you may NOT get what you want, yet you will be ok either way (this doesn't mean stop striving for goals, but stop wishing for things to be other than they are). Make your peace with possibility (Both the good and the bad, however frightening that is) - then let go. This is not positive OR negative thinking - it is NOT thinking.

Movement from the present. Whenever we are not present and in the moment, when our mind 'wanders' into the past or future, we cause ourselves anguish. Even thinking about nice things a lot simply deepens the area that bad thoughts will fill. This is because the past and the future do NOT exist in terms of the NOW. The only way they can exist now is for YOU to consciously bring them here; for you to think they matter (hint: they don't). The moment you let go of the past, and needing the future to be a certain way, worry and panic leave you soon after. And you can get on with the business of doing whatever you are doing now with total focus and clarity.
You have to understand that panic and anxiety are caused consciously or subconsciously by the way we were taught to look at the world.
