Isn't it the worst? Do u have HAD or panic disorder? What r you taking for your panic? They come on like monsters and suddenly the most familiar comfy places and people just aren't anymore.

Think of it like someone with diabetes or high cholesterol or whatever, the meds are needed and are there to help.

I had a panic attack this past Tuesday for the first time in about a year a half. I had to take one of my klonopins which I totally hate doing because they make me sleepy (I've got two kids and nursing school, I can't be sleepy during the day, ya know??) But yes, if they work, they work! I was thankful for it that morning and I've also had to take one daily since due the sickening anticipation of another panic attack. I wound up going back on my daily anti-anxiety medicine cause it seemed to keep the panic attacks at bay. I'm so sorry we're all dealing with this sh!t. Hugs friend.

You do what you have to do to get by. Don't beat yourself up over it. 6 months is great. *Never* would be better, but you know what I mean.

Brooke I wish it was that easy for me. The panic just is all over me all day everyday while I adjust to this new med. Xanax doesn't make it go away just makes me a zombie and a little relaxed. The worst. I'm here for ya!

Weird isn't it? I've gone months without an attack, then bam! It sneaks up on me. Like you said, you forgot what it feels like and it's very deflating.

Do people on here know what causes panic attacks? Does something traumatic have to happen in your life to get them? Just wanted to know. My husband said he was getting one while in the hospital one day with me there. Also my sister would get them. Neither are here anymore...
