I believe in God, the Father,
I believe in Jesus the Son.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Comforter
I pray in Jesus name for forgiveness. I just say Lord forgive me of all things I've done or will do wrong.
I pray in Jesus name for wisdom.
I pray in Jesus name for the Lord to guide me in all that I do, say, or think.
I pray in Jesus name for everyone who needs help in any way.
I praise the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit every time I can think to.

I've never had any kind of religion in my life, and find the concept of a God confusing. Generally I believe in my own practical ability to handle situations. That's about it...

Does it matter?

((( If it does, I found peace 30 years ago when I became atheist. I'm now raising both of my kids to be atheist and they're about the most mentally healthy people I know. I believe that everyday I wake up I have the choice to look for and to be the good in the world. I believe that there IS nothing else, and if good is going to exist, that it takes effort. )))

But does it really matter what brought me peace? Everyone pretty much has to find their own way.

If you're interested in a church/synagogue/etc, you can make a list and visit a different one every week until you find one that you like.

Or you can go to your local library and look for books (I'd do that before spending money on any.)

This is definitely a time of spiritual wonder for you. Their are pros and cons to everything in life and remember that no human is perfect. My advise is seek out someone you can talk to in person. I personally believe in God. I have schizophrenia as well as anxiety. My disorder lead me on a path of wonder down a dark road and one day I realized if their is so much bad in the world their has to be good and I wanted to be on the side of light. I don't know how other places do their places of worship. But, If you felt like giving a church a try that believes that Jesus is our savior. I suggest experimenting with going to different churches. If they say that your required to do anything as in tithe or arent to welcoming to you experimenting with finding a church. Then that might not be the one for you. I say give them a chance again no one human is perfect. God and Jesus are perfect but although they are different they also are the same. Try to be opened minded. Somethings you might not agree with but that's ultimately our understandings as humans and not Gods is always just that. Looking at the big picture is better than focusing on one part. And what plainguy suggested as prayer is good ones to start with. If your going out on a limb to believe something that you can't see in front of you. That's faith build on the faith strengthen that in whatever you believe and remember if you let others control your emotions by getting judgemental. Your faith needs strengthening. You'll experience people that you can't believe are religious and you'll experience people of no faith treating others better than people with faith. Were all human. As long as it's for good. I would like try to convince you that God is the one true God. Everything is telling me to say that. Although I believe that you have to figure that out on your own to have faith. If you look at it this way everything in life can be hypothesized and found out how it was done. But, to believe in a higher power gives you meaning. knowing that their is a reason for us being here rather than a freak accident is my comforting. God created the bible to give us a taste of what life can be. Faith or the Holy Spirit in us is the only true thing we have. Listen to your heart or your stomach. The brain and the tongue are quick to judge others.

For me, ^it^ is a What and it is not possible to be disconnected from ^it^. The peace and/or torment is in my own willingness to go inside of myself to embrace the connection.

It doesn't matter what I call ^it^ because ^it^ is bigger than words and tolerant of limited human language capabilities. Ditto for gender.

When I don't know what to say across that mysterious connection, I recite the alphabet. ^It^ knows which letters to take. The expression is for my sake, not for the sake of the connection.

I'm not interested in going to a church really. I have a belief that there is a higher power but not that I need to go to church or seek a church in order to have my belief. I believe that just by talking, in me head or even out, that he or whoever is there is listening. I see all these people who thank and praise jesus and god or the almighty one above for everything. I mean every little thing and I see as what they have grows and I wonder.. Am I going about life wrong? I still stand with that I do not have to find a church in order to have my beliefs but I believe that I have to believe in something higher.

Well, as I said, does it matter what I believe?



Is there some reason why you don't just go ahead and pray? (Is there an issue with finding time, or a place?)

For what it's worth, I know people who pray in the shower.

You have to find in your own heart what you believe in I believe in all religions and faiths I do not believe there is one being sitting some where making judgments I usually go sit in a chapel or go to the woods that is my element and cry on a tree. I find that I am praying a lot of times. Random times. I do find that I pray in the shower. Maybe not so much pray just so much as just talk to God. Mornings have been a struggle for me for a long time, just in general, so I have found that I lay in bed and talk to him. Just tell him all of the things that I am thankful for and ask him to help me overcome this feeling that I am feeling. As I said.. Mornings are rough. Really rough.
