Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
My suggestion is to keep doing more of what you did here: Sharing about those anxieties within a support community. Anxiety is a nebulous phenom which shifts and morphs continually with the speed and clarity of a fog bank. Observation and awareness helps sort the substance from the cloud in the quest to understand where what the deuce is going on. The steadying presence of a support community helps my hold a clearer course through the fog.
Just a suggestion. . . Life willing, more suggestions are on their way.
Welcome aboard.
I know what it is to have anxiety, it is such a difficult emotion to try and get under control. You seem to already know the trigger that causes you to start feeling anxious, but have you thought about refocusing your mind? For me, refocusing starts when I quote scriptures to myself like:
“Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, But a good word does him good.” Proverbs 12:25 or “Do not be anxious or worried about anything but in everything (every circumstance and situation) by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to let your (specific) requests known to God.” Philippians 4:6
The Lord hears our prayers and is big enough to calm our fears, thoughts, and anxieties. I pray that you will be encouraged and that the anxieties turn to prayers of thanksgiving and peace. Reading the Bible has been such a good help to me. I hope it is to you, too. Do you attend church or youth group? It is a great place to learn and make some long-lasting friendships. I am sure thinking of you.
