2) Finding a therapist who practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. One nugget garnered from my sessions that has been extremely helpful is to take in a nice big belly breath, holding the breath and saying to myself "I'm okay", then exhaling. Do this a few times and it will help stop the adrenaline.

Protein in the morning to keep blood sugar from dropping. Low blood sugar can trigger panic. Also, I drink only decaf coffee. FYI...Dr Claire Weekes who passed in 1990 Is considered by some as the pioneer of modern anxiety treatment via Cognitive Therapy. Her CD is really awesome and inspirational. I keep it in the car and listen to it for strength and comfort.

According to an article, when you think you're going to have a panic attack, train yourself to slow down your breathing. This won't prevent panic attacks, but it will make the attack less severe. Exercise will also help because it releases endorphins that calm the mind and body. It also promotes better sleep and your breathing will improve.
