Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Hello everyone,
Well... just as I think that life is going well. Life always seems to decide that "nahh her life is going too okay."
On Monday afternoon, I was in a car accident. Luckily I'm okay, just bruised up and was taken to the hospital because of a panic attack. The other person is okay, my car took majority of the damage. But it was all external damage to the car. I'm okay physically.. but not mentally.
It was a minor accident... atleast thats what the paramedics and the police said. I got mad because as I was talking to the paramedic.. the way they phrased their questions about my anxiety was as if they were trying to blame the accident on me. They asked me questions of "is your anxiety in check.." etc. And just the way they were saying it just.... irritated me. It was almost as if they had some sort of opinion on people with anxiety who drive. So that sucked.
Anyways.. I haven't driven since then. I feel as though I get very anxious when I'm even in a car. I ubered it to work today and felt myself getting really really anxious, to the point where my heart started beating quickly. I played some music and just tried to focus on my breathing. And it worked but then like it comes and goes. My body is still processing what happened. I'm working on baby steps to get comfortable again with a car... just by accompanying my family or partner to the store while they drive, etc. But yesterday I parked their car in the garage.. I felt like it was something I could do. And I did it.. but my hands were extremely shaky afterwards.. and I cried. A lot. I'm hearing myself tell myself that its okay.. but I feel so judgemental towards myself because like "others have had worse accidents" but obviously that doesn't help. But those thoughts run through my head. I keep replaying the accident in my head. I feel too aware of my surroundings even when I'm not the one driving. Like this was my first accident ever. And I'm irritated with the anxiety I am feeling because of what happened. Like to the point where I've had the thought to myself where "I miss when I felt this sort of anxiety after eating food." I already talked to my therapist about the entire thing.. but like.. I don't know what to do? Like i feel foolish, embarassed etc about the entire thing.. and I just wish I didn't feel like this accident was a big deal... I wish I could be like the other people that just get back on the horse and go. I can't. I feel anxious, I feel afraid... but yeah guys.. I have not been having a good week.
My mom recommended to me to take my propranolol medication atleast once to like make myself feel calmer.. but for some reason I can't.
I've also been more aware of my own mortality which is probably playing into the entire anxiety I have with driving/being in a car, etc. This all sucks.
This sucks.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
steadying support while you work through the residuals of the latest trauma.
itsy bitsy baby steps. be gentle with yourself and patient with the process.
Take a huge step back and assess the situation from a third person point of view. This will help you to see how your anxiety affects your well-being when you are NOT calm, NOT clear headed, and NOT breathing in sync with balance.
The whole idea of finding your way through this challenging experience is to keep moving forward as you are, trying different options until you find the one that works to help you heal the hurt inside.
You are not alone in this.
Like Arfie says, be gentle with yourself!
