Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hi all. I've been struggling lately with ocd surrounding body posture while sitting or sleeping. I've posted about it before so I'll spare you the details. Yesterday it woke me up at 4 and kept me up for a while. Then something I read came to me and gave me some peace so I wanted to post it here: "not even our troubles need to be a source of trouble. We cannot always live in total peace. 'If God takes away your peace of mind, very well, let it go with the rest; God remains always, and when nothing else is left to you."
That part about God remains always is what I remembered. I guess the quote helps me to accept the anxiety a little more. It helps me to realize that the point is not to be anxiety free in every moment but to remember that even in the anxious moments, when peace has left me, God still remains. It's hard right now because the ocd is trying any way it can to sneak in and pull me back to the anxiety state. As the past couple of days have progressed the ocd voice has gotten stronger and pulled me away from peace more and more. But so far I've been managing not to get pulled all the way back down.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
great epitome, asuncion and stated with simple eloquence. it helps me to take that a step further and minimize my OCD ticks to mere anxiety symptoms. the biggest problem i have with my OCD ticks is the sense of urgency that comes with focusing on the subject of my current obsession. treating them like mere symptoms helps me to humble them to more manageable proportions. i can then enjoy a compassionate laugh at myself when i catch myself taking myself too seriously --AGAIN.
