Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

I have a very strong testimony of my church but my Anxiety is making it really hard for me to go to church. I haven't gone to church in a few weeks and I didn't go today and now my family will come back and be very dissapointed in me. No one understands that I don't want to leave the church, I just want other people to help me feel at peace when I'm with them. My family just moved so we are going to a different church building with different people. It's been about 3 months and I've gone to church about 4-5 times. I'm so ashamed and I don't want them to think I'm inactive. I just need encouragement and acknowlegment. Can you guys help me? I can't stand another lecture from my parents about how I'm "inactive and I'm going to leave the church."

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Ashamed, inactive, encouragement, lecture, leave, and acknowledgement.
Your parents are going to use their usual response because it works to make you think about what choices you are making.
Disappointment. You're putting all those words into the discussion, Yet, none of them are from you-they are your perception of the situation.
What do you want? Peace, calm, come from within, not from other people. You are responsible for what you say, do, act, react, and respond.
You chose to stay home. Your parents didn't drag or otherwise force you to attend church. Your actions are showing you are conflicted about something connected to this event.
Keep writing it out.
Maybe I'm ashamed about my thin hair from my Trichotillomania....
Maybe it's because I can't bring myself to smile or look people in the eyes when I'm at church or at any kind of gathering...
My Anxiety says it's because my twin sister isn't going. I've started to depend on her when going to social events which is probably the reason why she isn't going. I could go with my older sister but she tends to do things to bring me out of my comfort zone and whenever I'm out of my comfort zone, I tend to shut down and lose focus. I can't carry on a conversation with someone I don't or barely know, even if we have something in common.
all the more reason to nudge myself out the door. one reason i like going to churches in order to break isolation is that i don't have to do anything more than just sit there.
