I had an CT scan last week to check out an abnormality of the pancreas. I have had ultrasound, CT Scan and now my doctor wants to do another MRI of the pancreas. There is a slight abnormailty in the head of my pancreas. I am very claustrophobic and really had to work on the CT Scan last week. I know the MRI will be closed in and I don't know if I can handle it. Plus, I am just scared to death of what they think it is. My doctor said my pancreas may have always been this way, but the radiologist keeps suggesting further testing. They told me on Friday to be more than 90% sure, I needed to have the MRI done on the pancreas. This was an incidential finding when I had an MRI done on my lower lumbar spine because of sciatia. My husband says that if they have to look that hard, it must not be much. Has anyone else experienced anything like this with testing? I need hugs, comfort and most of all reassurance that everything will be alright. I am almost petrified after this test on Wednesday to hear my phone ring. I don't feel sick at all, but now all of this is making me feel sick and my emotions are running wild. Someone, please help!

I have had many experiences like you are describing. My doctor has always prescribed some Valium to control my claustifobia (sp?) You should ask your doctor to do the same thing.

I am claustrophobic also and have a lot of trouble with CT scans and MRIs. Ask your doctor for IV valium. You have to arrange for this BEFORE the day of the test but if you have it, you will get through just fine. I had pancreatitis so I know what you are going through. I also had to have my gall bladder out. Most likely you just have a congenital abnormality in shape of your pancreas and it means nothing at all. We are all different. I have an abnormality in the tube coming from where the gall bladder used to be. Try hard not to worry and tell your doctor that you don't think you can get through the test without valium. They don't want a patient running out of the test and so many people are claustrophobic in those machines that they are very used to hearing it. You are not at all unusual in your fears. Good luck.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
