Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
In my case, the worrying was affecting my ability to function in a positive direction for even simple tasks.
So, once I accepted that I was worrying about my health, I made the choice to do something with the worry itself.
I wrote it out, I acted it out. I worked it out with both words and acting through those moments that scared me into worrying. Taking the time to do both the mental and physical showed me how my anxiety was working to help me in 'distress'.
I made a goal to do one positive 'worry' a day. This can be as simple as smiling at someone you don't know. The first few times I did it, it was awkward. Now, I do it when I am out and about, even if I'm wearing a mask into a business that wants masks. A smile does not use words, yet it gives off pleasant vibes to anyone, even those who are frowning.
There are 43 muscles in the face, most of which are controlled by the cranial nerve (facial nerve). Seventeen of those muscles are used when you smile, and 43 of them are working when you frown.
I had bells palsy and had to really practice smiling again. Bells palsy causes one side of your face to become stiff or droopy.
Simple tasks you do without thinking before something strange, different, or weird occurs, often bring on worry in odd situations.
Learning how to use the anxiety to improve my smile - relaxing the facial nerve, breathing and using the nose to lift the top lip (yes, it was that much focus in the beginning), helped me to be comfortable with anxiety instead of worrying.
Treating your self kindly as you find your better balance in coping with mental situations that can be single episode or chronic episode will help you build your comfort and confidence again.
I understand. I to worry a lot. And certain things that have happened to me seem like I just can't shake the feeling of it getting worse over time. I guess you can say I to get worse over certain incidents. Thank you so much for your comment. Italianmomma4ever
Absolutely worry is anxiety. There's no doubt in my mind about that. Worry can sometimes just leave you feeling numb. I'm glad you were able to work out something to help you function and you were able to stop worrying about your health. I always have these crazy thoughts that what if there's something wrong with me or what if something happens to me. I guess you can call it the "The What Ifs". I too write things out. That is something I have learned from you. And I thank you for that. Because it has helped me tremendously. A lot of times when I'm out I will say Hi through my mask. My eyes kind of smile too. Sorry to hear about your bells palsy. I never heard of it. Thanks for explaining what it is and how it effects you. I do treat my self to massages and pedicures and manicures and sometimes even something good I like to eat. And I like to shop. So if I feel like if I accomplished a task that I was worried about doing. I will reward myself with alittle something. Lol. Thank you so much for your comment. Your comments are always written so well and explained perfect. And I appreciate that. Enjoy your day. Italianmomma4ever
Doing something special after dealing with a 'worry' is something I do automatically without thinking now. Thank you for the reminder! I stopped thinking about it or 'overthinking' as I would consider it now.
I know you worry a lot. And I'm sorry you do. It's not a good feeling nor is it good for your overall health. And your fear over going crazy is just a fear. Your not gonna go crazy. So don't think that. Write it out how you feeling. I worry about health issues too. Like if there's something wrong with me or is something gonna happen to me. That's just the anxiety messing with my mind. Nothing has happened. So I have put those thoughts out of my mind. When you start to worry distract yourself. Go do something. Thank you for your comment my friend. Italianmomma4ever

Lol Your very welcome for reminding you. I'm glad you too do something special for yourself. You deserve it. Your a great person. And I thank you for that. Italianmomma4ever
