Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

I have been having major anxiety attacks for weeks. Sometimes I shake so much I cannot hold a fork to eat. I tried to take my control back by addressing the problem head on. If you've read my previous posts you'll know it's my alcoholic husband. I feel it coming back today. I have been free of the anxiety for several days. I have even stopped taking Xanax for a few days. It was suggested to me at Alanon to detach from him. I wasn't even sure what that meant exactly. A quote was read out loud to us and it goes something like this ... "Get off his back. Get out of his way, and Get on with your life."
We discussed my anxiety last night. He pretty much told me he doesn't feel married any more and all he wants is his freedom. I told him to move out of our house again and he said no he wants to live there but not have me question him about what he's doing. He came home last night at about 3:00 am. He just went to bed. He was suppose to get up for work at 4:30 am. He didn't even hear his alarm. I turned it off after 15 minutes. I did not sleep in bed with him. I then had to listen to his phone going off 5, 6, 7 times in a row. I got ready for work myself and left.
Now the shakes have started again. I can feel the tears burning my eyes. I am trying to hold it together. It does not seem to be working. I think I'm going to go home sick. I don't know what more to do??? Help me hold on.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

You have 2 choices:
1. change the locks, buy a gun or a pitt bull, get a protection order out against him and have some large male relative come to stay for a while;
2. Cut your losses and leave.
This guy is not your friend. He is a viper in your busom. The reason your body is coming to pieces is because your body can't lie even if your mind can. Your body knows perfectly well what's going on.
Do not try to make any long-term decisions while you're in overwhelming stress-pause, stop, observe, and look at the options that work best for you.
Do not let him run you out of the house. I'd say you're keeping to what works to keep you balanced by leaving him alone and doing what you need to do for your well-being.
Best wishes.
Thank you mid eyebrow. I had a relatively good weekend with him. We attended our 40th class reunion. I guess it was a drunk feast for him. At least this kept him busy. I spoke to some old girl friends I haven't connected with in 20 years. It felt good talking. I did let it out of the bag that we are getting divorced after 40 years of marriage. So many people were shocked. Even his buddies. I have one after another tell me I am a beautiful woman and they can't understand what my husbands problem is. I guess I don't know either. I have tried to give him space. But I cannot tolerate another woman again. Well after spending the day with grand children and our adult children he took me home at 5:00 and said he had to go help a "friend". A woman. He NEVER came back.
I have been telling him for days that I wouldn't do anything until after the class reunion because we were registered to go. Well when he didn't come home (yet again) I decided enough is enough. He texted me first thing this morning when he got to work about 6:00 am. He didn't even apologize. All he said was he fell asleep. Well I'm sure he did right in her bed. I told him he could pick up his clothes today after work. And I wish him good luck. His response was "whatever!"
now hire a locksmith. :D
And change your phone number.
this is fantastic news. Honestly: pearls before swine. And he is a swine.
And you are a pearl. :P
