Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Is it possible for a person to trigger anxiety??
Just lately, I dread the presence of my Dad. Usually its because its something he says, And I tell myself "Ignore it, Ignore it.. its just his opinion" but it triggers a wave of anxiety, and I feel I am drowning in negative thoughts. I wonder if its normal to have a little angst towards our parents.... I dont know how to feel, except I just have a stronger urge to prove him wrong. I am just sad that his words are harsh, even cruel sometimes. In ways he is so hardheaded, but he does have a generous character. I feel like its more of a generation gap... I cant even begin to understand. All I feel is that its all about him.. every bloody second of the day, I dont know how my mom deals but she deals. Its ironic how I say his generous, but at the same time he isnt. Maybe I am being petty over the fact that it seems he doesnt have any interest in me, really. Maybe I just wont ever understand this feeling I have... Maybe its just me... And I do feel bad about it all. Here comes the anxiety... blah.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

"don't be a hate hole" has been one of my recent mantras which seems to be escaping my mouth more and more often. it emerges when i am faced with the endless list of chores i would rather not deal with. insurance. head lice. bureaucracy. in-laws. the list goes on and on and on and on, ad infinitum.reality checks requested. am i making sense?"ever'thin they is but loving leaves a rust on your...

I think when we realise that most of what comes out of their mouths is just a record playing it makes it easier to bear. Well... It means when they start cranking out that same old shit we can go hide in the loo for 1/2 hr till they forget. you can't win against old people. You just have to escape for a few minutes.
He probably is generous. he probably is loving. But he won't be of the generation that SAYS so. And if you want the modern loving words from an old timer you'll die waiting. They'll never say anything that could give in you the sin of pride. It's a really backwards love but it's love all the same. Learn to read between the lines. Learn to look for the love between the words.
I often don't know what to say, or how to start a conversation. So I talk about the mundane things, and I bully him into taking showers and I show him no great affection for fear he will run for it but every moment he is in my house my heart sings with joy and I feel whole inside.
he's 21. Heh.
Reading Bridgie's post, perhaps it is just that the different generations cant communication. We want the acknowledgement and the affection, but don't know how to ask for it (nor do we often feel we should...so backwards haha). Parents want to give us love and affection, but struggle to relate and to communicate to us.
It is a shame, and I have no clue what to tell you to rectify it...just ask that if you find a way please tell me!! :)
Don't let it get you down,
