I am trying to go with just xanax, which my doc says she eventually wants me off of, well that will happen over my dead, cold body!
I sure wish the herbal stuff worked for me. I have noticed that since my hubby and I quit walking every night (due to the humidity and hot weather) my anxiety came back full force. but what kind of exercise can one do in an apartment in the summertime? Ya know.
These drug intereactions can be fatal. I don't get these doctors who don't check to see what drugs do what.
Well done for doing your homework too!
I think it is important that we do read before we just pop pills, we need to be proactive in our health and not just accept that doctors are always right. it is pretty bad that we go to them asking for help, but then we have to double check on their treatment plan for us. we are suppose to be able to trust doctors. But
i basically do not fully put my trust in them. sorry, but it's stories like this one that just leaves me skeptical. I can't help it.
and I don't blame you for being upset and getting ticked off by it all.
I have got despondent with doctors over the years for one thing or another. and i too try and manage without medications, i have been through a few for the anxiety and depression, they did help with the depression but not much for the anxiety.
I take Ativan on an as needed basis, and no longer take a maintenance daily medicine, I have tried the Lexapro, Paxil, cymbalta etc... Cymbalta was a b*tch to ween off. horrible.
they helped with depression but not much for anxiety.
I take natural things too now. I can't take valerian, it can help relax but I hated the dreams I get with taking it.
I like Kanna
and Rhodiola Rosea. Not a cure but better than side effects with taking prescribed meds.
Good job Koolman, glad that you are finding things that help.
all the best to you clss1988, you do what you think is best for you and hope you get to find something that helps.
But that is just me.
I also have a great doctor who listens to my concerns and spends as much time as I need with him.
