However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

i debated whether this was off-topic, but decided it is thoroughly theme appropriate. music is one of my more effective therapy tools, serving as both mantra and channel for whatever ails me. when i let myself sing the song out loud, it is also a breathing exercise. this morning finds me questioning everything. is this shirt style-appropriate for a 69 year old soccer mom? are the children chewing on the right sides of their mouths? is mercury retrograde in taurus today?
sigh. . . so many questions and even more answers. my therapy song for this morning is, "think i'll let the mystery be."

to have an upbeat attitude about stuff. I love the song 'let the mystery be' i also love the website which i will share with a highschool friend. have a great day arfie! keep on keepin on (((HUG)))
I listen to CDs. Barbra Streisand, The Carpenters, Simon and Garfunkel,

"mother mary comes to me
"speaking words of wisdom
"let it be."
i have waaaaaaaaaaay more than one therapy song, tired. as it happens, all three of the artists you listed have songs in my therapy song jukebox.
"don't worry that it's not good enough
"for anyone else but you.
"just sing. . . sing a song."
thank you, mid. music does, indeed, soothe the savage beast. even psycho beasts.
i opine that we need another word for making music. joni mitchel WORKS music. it intimidates the unholies out of me to call what she does, "playing." what she does with music is harder and more repetitious work than any work i've ever been paid for. it feels like a sacrilege to call our respective noisemaking by the same name. oil and water are both fluids, but they don't mix well.
i play and i reserve the right to play with whatever instrument i please, especially voice. yes, sweet girl. the voice is the most versatile instrument in the opera.
for what it's worth
piano was my first formal music training. i didn't get too far on that formal training. formal musicians scare me and performing is more than my social anxiety can handle. i picked up guitar because pianos are not very portable. by the time i stopped wandering far enough to give a piano a home, i was pretty hooked on guitar, but i still reserve the right to play piano. play, not work.
