Loneliness is a hard feeling to fight and unfortunately, I deal with it quite often. I am 21 years old and have never been in a relationship. Yes, I am still very young but it is hard to see others around me falling in love and getting engaged and having children, and here I am living my life as a single woman. I have talked to my friends about my feelings, but I only have one friend who truly understands how I feel about this situation, so it is nice to be able to talk to them about it. I think it especially hits around Valentine's day for obvious reasons but sometimes it becomes too much to handle. I just wish I could experience the feeling of romantic love..

I didn't fall in love until I was 31. Luckily he fell in love with me too. We both weren't exactly normal. I met him through a new dating service. Years before computer dating apps. We were married a year after we met. There is always hope.
This is what I will say. I’d rather be single than chasing someone else’s standards about happiness and completeness.
I didn’t meet my husband until I was almost 36 years old. Prior to that I had one serious relationship in college and then one serious relationship when I was in my late 20s, both lasting about 2 years. I dated a lot in between but nothing serious or that lasted more than a couple of months. All my friends were married by the time I was in my late 20s. It’s a weird spot to be in because you feel a little like what’s wrong with me. There is nothing wrong. When I look back on that time it is really is when I became who I am, my own person, with my own ideas about who I wanted to be, and I stopped comparing myself to my peers. I traveled a lot, started my career, expanded my circle of friends and moved on from some of them all together. Best time in my life ever.
Now that she’s been attending our life group for almost a year now, it helped her to look on the positive side. When there are times that she’s lonely, she has her life group to remind her that she’s not alone. She keeps herself busy in getting a masteral degree and going out with her friends.
My other friend, when she was 31 years old she was seriously looking for a boyfriend. After 2 years she met a friend, dated for a year and got married.
