Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Hey everyone,
I just want to share with you all a method that is helping me. I used to be agoraphobic and life was unbearable, I was anxious all the time and barely able to talk to people.
I have gotten a lot better from using this method and am very excited about it, especially for other sufferers, so I just want to share it!
try this and see if ye guys get any relief. this is the method in a nutshell. This is really a small summary as there have been many books written by Dr Weekes on anxiety.
1. face the anxiety. stop trying to ignore the physical symptoms or worrying thoughts. trying to ignore them gives them importance and makes them worse. instead conscioulsy be awaare of them. i knoww they can be scary but really they are physical symptoms of no gsigificance. have they ever really hurt u in the past. or have the thoughts. the worrying thoughts are a result of a tired mind. your mind is tired from constant thinking.
2. stop fighting the physical symptoms, thoughts and feelins of anxiety. take a deep breath and exhale slowly and as u do let ur shoulders, tummy muslces, arms and hands sag. let go of urself. stop tensing against urself.
3. stop adding fear from ur mind. this is what is keeping ur body and mind in a state of anxiety. instead practise letting the anxiety be there. to use an anology, imagine if u are a ship in the sea and the anxiety is a storm. u are afraid to go into the storm and row as quick as u can ie fight so as not to experience the anxiety. ie the storm. but the anxiety/storm is harmless it is the fear of it thaat is causing the problem. just think about it if u didnt have the physical symptoms or thoughts what would be the problem.
so let ur boat go into the storm stop rowing and let yourself willingly experience the storm, the wind the rain ie the anxiety. and float, like the boat in the sea, float. let ur mind be neutraal to the anxiety, be imparial and let it do whatever it wants. let ur boat shake and be rocked by the storm etc.
4. let time pass, when u have the symptoms quietly praactise away. it takes time for a broken foot etc to heaal and it takes time for a tired nervous system and mind to recover as well.
if u practise like this ur body and mind will get restbite and the anxiety will calm down.
this is what is helping me and i just want to sahre it. with the hope that it will help some one.
regards,
Jon

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
Im glad to find some else who feels the same about the weekes method. there is something she mentions in the book called the right inner voice. this is what actually cures us. its the voice of confidence. she mentions in the books the voice of doubt this is the voice of fear whcih keeps us sufferring.
we have to build our right inner voices/confidence, i recommend u do this by recording each tough situation you have yet come through by practising the method, of facing, accpeting, floating and letting time pass.
there is a counseloor in new zealand who specializes in her method. i have been getting help of him. he used to suffer himself but recovered by using her method, he now helps other sufferers. he has been running is own clinic for the last 18 years. if its of interest to you i recommend you check out his site wwwhealing--anxiety.com
stay in touch, and let me know how you are getting on!
