Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
stay away from illegal drugs and alcohol. They will only make things worse in the long run. Can you try to talk to your parents again about how you are feeling? Or perhaps a school guidance counselor?
My kids are just older than you.
High school is the only Free education that you'll get, but it's far from the only education that you can get. I know plenty of people that barely made it through that went back, did wonderfully and got college degrees. More than that, no one in 5 years is even going to care about your middle school grades.
As for the classes that you're struggling in, go talk to the teachers. They should have some hints on how you can study more effectively.
Middle school is a big divide. In elementary school, teachers gave you homework of many different types. Although they never say it, it's really to help you learn which ways of learning help you best. So if you learn best by writing sentences...then even if it's not a "homework" assignment, that's what you'll need to do to "study".
In general, you should be reviewing each major class (English, Math, Science, etc.) each day...even if you don't have homework. Pay attention to anything that you didn't quite understand. And try and ask yourself questions both ways...something like:
What's the name of the chemical that plants use to absorb energy?
What does chlorophyll do?
Put them on notecards, shuffle them, and quiz yourself. Even if spelling doesn't count (multiple choice tests), try to learn the correct spelling. The effort will help cement the meaning of the term in your head.
You CAN do this. Struggling in 7th grade is common. What you learn now about "how" to learn...will be one of the most important lessons of this year.
Heartfelt hugs, Patti
Please do not use any sort of drugs or alcohol. You are a beautiful and young!
You have so much to live for. Life throws us all hard balls. We all have to learn how to deal with them. You sound like a very compassionate girl, that is a wonderful virtue to have. Do you have any family or grown up friends who you trust and love? They can help encourage and support you. Do you have a school counselor who you can go and talk to? Or how about a pastor?
Growing up is a hard job, Kids and grown ups can be mean with their teasing and bullying. You need to find someone who you can confide in and talk to.
If all else call up a hospital and ask them if they can direct you to a support group or a local counseling program.
Do not be so hard on yourself, you need to take time to enjoy life. Do you keep a journal?
I am going to pray for you, that you will find immediate help and comfort.
We are all here for you! We all care about you!
