Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Let me relay a success story, not about my wife but her sister. Sis had serious anxiety. Going with her to any event, you'd hear almost constant concerns, uh-oh, this is a big problem, uh-oh, we better worry about this, she's going there better be very careful. She seemed to have a poor self-image and saying her memory and other things were going. Her husbad lost several jobs and they faced substantial financial stress.
I gave her a job, part-time at home. She first questioned whether she could do it, and I said she was bright, smart, and could handle it. And there were some initial challenges, I'd tell her call clients and ask them A and B, and she's say we need to discuss A, B, C, and D, I'd say that's not needed and she's said yes it is. I was patient, she had challenges initially, worried I was giving work to someone else and had an argument with someone very valued. Nonetheless I was patient, knew they needed the money, and things began working out. Other woman began adjusting to her style, I let her do things her way, and its working out.
More significantly, her level of anxiety has I think decreased by 60-75%. She seems much more upbeat and expresses worries less. She used to complain about her teeth and appearance and I hear that less. They always wanted to go on vacations with us, we did, but when my wife had some serious problems on the last one, now they planned a trip on their own! Sis seems much happier. Her husband got a job as a substitute teacher and while the pay is less, he enjoys teaching, kids like him, and the assurance of some income helps.
So one point is there are success stories. Take problems one by one, make some progress, be occupied doing and thinking less, and things can get better.

I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
