Hi All my name in Mary67
I just joined this group today. I have generalized anxiety disorder that is ruining my life. I had a major panic attack two months ago that landed me in the hospital and ever since then I have them almost every day. I am out of work with it and miserable. I was put on effexor but side effects were terrible. I was switched to Lexapro. On it for eight days but side effects are just as bad. I am also taking Xanax.
Any advice? Feel so lost.

Welcome to the group. You will get a lot of support here. I also have GAD and have not be able to tolerate any medication except for xanax.
I very seldom take one because doctor will not treat anymore of his patience with a benzo. Let me know how the lexapro works for you. hugs, susie
Thanks for the post. Its really nice to talk to other people with the same condition. So far the lexapro is not agreeing with me. It makes me feel like a zombie. Doctor says it will level off but haven't taken it today. Find I am needing higher dose of Xanax to help. Hope to chat again soon.
