Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
So I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder when I was in high school. With my anxiety, I go through bouts of really intense anxiety, and then it pretty much goes away for a little while. But man, when it comes back, it comes back. Right now I'm going through a bout and I'm having a really hard time reminding myself that this feeling doesn't last forever. I get so anxious and stressed that I get heart palpitations, which makes it worse because my biggest fear is having a health issue and dying. I've had it checked out and my doctor told me my heart is perfectly fine and that it's normal with people who have anxiety, but it's still scary. Things that I used to enjoy like shopping and eating out, I now dread because I know I'm going to be a nervous wreck the whole time. My mood has taken a turn because I'm finding it harder and harder to enjoy my days. I wake up knowing I'm going to have anxiety. It's become to where I can barely even make it through an 8 hour work day. It's really affecting my life. Does anyone else experience heart palpitations? How do you guys deal with anxiety like this?

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

First step is to get hydrated and stay hydrated. Second step is to practice gentle motion movement and breathing. These techniques will help the anxiety level down fast naturally, and give you a moment's peace.
The hardest part about facing this fear head-on is to just do. Take that first step. Praise your self on this, and do it as often you need to help you get control of the anxiety.
You are not alone. Best wishes.
I just want you to know that you are not alone. This shall pass.
Hugs,
