Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I've been dealing with pretty bad anxiety for a few weeks. I've been doing pretty good for years on only 20mg prozac but my doctor doubled my Prozac after an anxiety attack out of nowhere. I'm hoping that i'm only adjusting to the higher dosage with increased anxiety all day and panic attacks at night along with obsessive thoughts. I was up most of the night just because i felt i needed to keep burping ?? Now today, after eating, the sensation of having my stomach full set me off and I felt sick and went and laid down until it subsided. I know nothing about anxiety is sensible but is this normal?

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
If it's really unbearable, call your psychiatrist and let them know what symptoms you are experiencing. They will be able to help you with what you should do, maybe possibly they will say to cut to 30 mgs (I am only guessing! Ask them!), or some other way they will think of.
But try to ride it out. It could take up to 4 - 6 weeks to level out and feel better. 20 mgs Prozac is a pretty low dose. They probably think you need to take more, and then that will help you feel better. But yeah, it could take a month, unfortunately. The side effects will get better, it will take a little bit of time though, unfortunately; I hope the time goes by fast for you. Stay busy, keep doing your normal every day stuff, and hopefully you will feel better soon.
You're going to be okay. Good luck.
Digestive issues are a standard anxiety symptom in my case, but if yours are new to you they might be worth asking your doctor about. The emergence of new symptoms with a medication change definitely raises flags.
Hoping tonight is a better night for us both. Hugs.
