Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
In the meantime, hot tea, deep breathing, hot bath or breathing through a hot towel (I know that sounds weird, but it works for head colds, too).
Take care...

You might ask them to check your vitamin D, B12, folate. And they may want to check for the MTHFR gene mutation which can cause issues like anxiety and depression. But the treatment is really easy - a special type of folate.
I'm so sorry that your symptoms and attacks have reappeared. There's nothing more heartbreaking than thinking you've gotten past your anxiety and then it's suddenly come back.
It sounds like your body/mind could be experiencing a slight withdrawal from the temporary absence of your Xanax and it's triggering your anxiety symptoms.
You probably already know this, but anxiety is a cycle - You have one attack and it creates fear of having another attack which then causes yet another attack. This keeps going as long as you remain afraid.
Learning to recognize the cycle when it's starting is the best way to gain control of it and stop it. Remember this, anxiety itself can't hurt you. It's just chemical sensations in your body signaling for you to do something.
Sometimes these sensations are caused by circumstances, such as real life danger, and sometimes these sensations are caused by nothing at all except chemicals in our brains getting all mixed up.
For me, my anxiety was triggered by a traumatic event that occurred a year or more before I had any anxiety symptoms at all. Talking to a professional to help pin point the root of your anxiety can really help in understanding how to deal with it.
In case you're wondering, I've suffered from generalized anxiety disorder, OCD and PTSD since I was a child. I used to have panic attacks every day, but now I only have them once every 6-8 years and then my anxiety quickly subsides. I'm not on any medication. It made my symptoms worse and made me feel awful.
You can get through this. I promise. Focus on positive things and don't let negative thoughts and worrying take over your mind. Distract yourself when you feel like it's consuming you. You control it, it doesn't control you. We are all here for you.
Good luck and I hope this helps.
That is a very common symptom of anxiety. Particularly "sleep anxiety" also known as "bedtime anxiety". It happens to me a lot when I'm under a lot of stress or my anxiety is acting up.
I'm just starting to fall asleep and all of a sudden I'm startled awake with my heart pounding. When my anxiety is especially bad, it'll happen several times a night.
There's more than likely nothing wrong with you. Your body is in overdrive right now and doesn't want to let you relax. Of course, I don't know anything about your medical history, but if you're generally healthy, it's probably nothing.
If you're really concerned about it, you could check in to urgent care and have them take a quick look at you. Everything will probably check out fine, but at least you'll have the added peace of mind.
Anytime I'm going through this, I try to get up and distract myself for a little while until I can finally relax more naturally. It only seems to get worse the longer I lie there.
Take a few deep breaths and put on a favorite TV show or movie to calm you. Everything's going to be all right.
The MTHFR gene mutation I mentioned isn't a big deal at all. Folate is just a vitamin you might be low on that could be causing all this havoc. The test is about $99 and the folate about $7/month. It's not a drug and has no side effects.
Hope this helps.!!!
