I understand where you are coming from 100%! I started "eating for comfort" in my ealry 30's and put on a ton of weight.
In the short run it will be no big deal but i kept it up for years and eventually it had a affect on my physical health. I just turned 54 and am supposedly "pre-diabetic" and my blood pressure has been a little high for years now.
JBuydos made a good suggestion. I just had some frwssh blueberries for dessert for lunch but in my 30's and early 40's I wanted confort food only and I know most fruits and nuts willl not give you that short "high" or good feeling. But in the long run, as yoy know, eating alll those fatty and processed foods could show in diabetes and other illnesses.
So, I am not judging because I iunderstand when one has severe anxiety (I had an extreme case of OCD and severe GAD for decades) some of us will do almost anything for relief. But I did not care or think about health consequences. I did hate the weight gain.
Hope you can find some medical relief to your anxiety in a med or meds, relaxation techs or whatever might work for you.
