Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I think the question is - do you WANT to travel? For people who are sensitive, it's tough because we pick up on all of that energy around us and traveling is especially difficult because people are all having so much stress and enhanced emotion.
As I am getting past the anxiety (and depression) I'm finding some interesting things. I realize that when I had a lot of anxiety, my best hope was to simply be less anxious - and my DREAM was to be comfortable.
For most people, they live in a place of feeling comfortable the vast majority of the time with fun and excitement and things to look forward to frequently with only mild anxiety some of the time. Wouldn't that be heaven?
So, of course we're going to lean towards feeling depressed.
I'm starting to say "no" to things I don't want to do. I ABHOR flying. More than just fear/anxiety. I hate it with a passion. So I don't fly. If people want to see me, I tell them I'll be glad to welcome them.
By only doing things I will actually enjoy, I am having less anxiety and feel less depressed.
I don't think that's the only answer, but it seems to be part of the puzzle. And I know not everyone can do that.
I've just found that among anxious people, there are so many people pleasers. While most really try to only do what they'll enjoy, anxious people are always looking to how they can please others - and going out of their way and getting anxious doing it.
I am a people pleaser and I have spent the whole summer worried about making sure my husband and stepson have a good time together. One thing I'm looking forward to is seeing my own family. It's worth the flight to go home for little while. I'm trying to focus on that. I'm going to do all the things I miss while we're at home.
We did get on fight. It was long and nerve wracking but I took some klonopin nd managed to sleep.
