Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I honestly just need to vent and have nowhere else to do it. I have been in school working on my Bachelors Degree. I am in my final year and it's getting pretty tough, but I am doing well. I started college later in life, I am currently 40. One of the main reasons I went back was because my husband said I could focus on school and not work while I was working on my degree. Life happened and my husband started getting stressed over money and bills and always complaining about something (we are by no means hurting for money) He kept saying things like He was tired of being the only one to worry about it, He was tired of being the only one contributing, etc., even though He was the one that told me I was fine to quit working. So once I got tired of hearing the complaints I started to apply for jobs. Where we live unless you work food service, retail or are in the medical field there are no jobs. My only experiences were customer service/call center so, I went back to what I knew and I got my old job back. Mind you, my old job was prior to a move and is now over an hour away. Therefore to be safe with big city traffic I will be leaving 2 hours early in the mornings to make sure I can get there on time. I will also be working 4, 10 hour days. So I will be getting up at 5:30, to work at school, leave the house at 8am and I will get off work at 10pm to get home around midnight. I will have 3 days off through the week to get school work, but I am coming up to rdest class which is my Capstone class. Let's add in the fact that prior to me going back to work we adopted a Deaf Great Dane puppy. Who cannot be left alon. My husband works part-time, which may only be a couple of a month (retired military) and on those days I have to figure out what to do without dog. Meanwhile my husband just goes with the flow. He keeps saying how he needs to get all the extra days of work in, and I'm over here like "I am going back to work so you do not do that" "How can you manage that when I won't be here because I have to work" I am so stressed out. I don't sleep well. I cry all the time because I just do not know how I will manage the workload. We have a 19-year-old son who can barely fend for himself. He's a senior in high school and I have to wake up every single morning he goes to school because he cannot manage to get himself up with his alarm. He refuses to drive and hasn't even gotten his license yet. He does nothing but vegitate in his room playing video games. He has no friends. He's weird and awkward. And no matter what I have tried he will not get out of the house, will not make friends. My plate is full and I'm one extra helping away from a daily panic attack. I know I have jumped around but I just am so upset.

disorder or something else that keeps him from being able to function.
You also need to figure out what is going on with your husband. You
need to take care of yourself. Quit your job if you need to. People make
money at home using the internet. Look into that maybe. You defiantly
need to do something different. Can you talk to your husband? Ask why
he feels like he does? Will he go to therapy with you maybe?
Vent freely, vent often. Listening. . .
Welcome aboard.
When the household is full of chaos, through lack of effective communication, it becomes a daily struggle for everyone.
First, take care of you. You must do what works to keep your well-being balanced.
Second, do not depend on anyone else to handle this - make a schedule, make a plan (practice writing in a journal to get all your associated feelings out safely), and figure out what works best for you. Start from that point.
Your husband is going through "..." which happens to a lot of military guys who 'retire' from the military structure system into oblivion. They are not connected to any type of support network.
What you must figure out with your son, is your acceptable level of commitment, activity, and balance is. Again, practice writing out in a private journal will help you gain insight on your feelings.
Once you gain balance with your feelings, it's a lot easier to stay calm and in position of communication.
Best wishes and welcome to anxiety board.
