Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Has anyone experienced a silent anxiety attack? Like you dont realize you're having one till much later when your alone? Is it even possible or does that even make any sense?.. I have bad anxiety especially when it comes to being in a room with a large group of people.. I had to do first aid yesterday, there were 15 people in the room and I was by myself.. they were all nice people and I had a nice instructor.. I was fine all the through, surprisingly.. and before the test our instructor got us to practice for an hour and 15 minutes which I much appreciated because if we didnt I would've probably failed.. anyways we start the test after we practice, usually with tests I freak out and my mind goes blank especially when people start to finish before me and leave.. however not this time I was actually able to focus for the most part and I only got four wrong.. however after I left the building I could feel it all come down on me at once, I had a huge headache and I was exhausted.. by the time I got home I was so tired and just drained.. I dont know about the rest of you but after I have an anxiety attack I'm exhausted and so tired that i can't stay awake because it's taken so much out of me..

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
I think I'll allow myself a moment of envy that you get to sleep off the exhaustion after an anxiety attack. When I experience a delayed reaction anxiety attack, my adrenal glands kick in and I can easily head into days or weeks of insomnia which cause the anxiety to escalate into some hideous side effects. I recover far, far faster if I begin plying therapy tools at the first sign I am cycling once more. Breathing and positive affirmation exercises are my most used therapy tools for the phenom. They work if I work them.
But I know what you mean about the silent ones too. For me, it's when I'm dealing with a stressful situation, usually involving difficult people. When I come off my epinephrine-induced anxiety high, I feel exhausted, drained, fatigued, and sometimes I have a headache too. Wish I could sleep after, but for me, my mind usually chooses to recount the events on a repeating thought loop for about 1-2 hours until it fizzles out for the night.
You made it work for you when it was silent. In other words, you were able to focus on the tasks without talking or otherwise distracting your effort.
Yes, you will be exhausted afterwards, but you will have managed the anxiety effectively.
I have learned to accept that the silent anxiety experiences are stronger because I am stronger in managing the moment and when I am able to relax, I feel the release of all those strong parts.
Best wishes! You're doing a great job!
