my boyfriend feels sick all the time due to his anxiety, it's pretty standard to develop physical symptoms due to severe anxiety so maybe it is from your head? Though it doesn't make the physical pain any less real.

Yes, I've been there. I've been battling a variety of symptoms since last summer. Doctors couldn't find anything severe enough for me to be in so much pain and the anxiety did kick in.

If you're vomiting or having diarrhea, it could be due to the stomach virus making its way to everyone. My family had it, and it was brutal. You also can experience physical pains with anxiety. Symptoms of anxiety differ for everyone. I get back pains, stomachaches, racing pulse.

Being sick, regardless of what it is, can make you feel like you aren't getting any better! How long have you been sick? Can you get outside for some fresh air.? Maybe even take a walk. Remind yourself you won't be sick forever! Its only temporary. See if getting outside (not getting others sick) Can help!! Good Luck.

It is a vicious circle. Sickness breeds anxiety and anxiety sickness. For me this is also the trigger that a panic attack is coming on. Deliberate with yourself when you feel this way and tell yourself to find ways (distractions) that will make you feel better.

I have been sick for about a month and a half (many people here in Michigan are going through same virus-so I know it is real and I did get flu about a week ago with vomiting, etc.) birdmom5--the one thing that helps my anxiety is working out but have had a hard time even doing that cause I get sick again( doc tells me my body needs rest) djchurn---Exactly!!! This is what is so frustrating. It is a vicious cycle. I find distraction can help--Thank you all for your feedback(:

Anxiety can make any virus or sickness worse. After I got shingles about three months ago, then got severe nerve pain afterwords, I got very bad anxiety that has developed into panic attacks. My nerve pain feeds my anxiety so it's a vicious cycle. All the research shows that pain is worsened by anxiety. So, now I concentrate more on managing my anxiety than my nerve pain. I try to force myself to relax, breath deeply, focus on something like a TV show, music or reading--anything to distract me from worrying about my health. Try distracting yourself from thinking about your sickness.
