Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
malaise..like Im coming down with the flu but its not full force yet.
I usually take an Ativan and feel somewhat better in 25 or 30 minutes,
but try not do it too ofter because your body can become addicted
[need it more often and in larger doses] if you use too frequetly.
I aslo started Buspar daily about 3 weeks ago ..not sure if its helping or not.
I am going crazy here!! I feel horrible....today around 3 pm I all of the sudden started to feel horrible. Nauseated, fatigued, and more shaky. It's driving me nuts and it makes it worse that I have health anxiety and these symptoms have me thinking I am going to die. Whether it is my heart, MS, cancer, or anything awful!! My mind runs wild...
I just need some solace. I don't know what to do....I don't want to go to the ER....
I have 4 kids and they need me....I am so irritable and tired. I don't want to do anything, but then when I try to lay down..I can't because I am also restless....
I just want to scream!!!!
I treat it just like I would if I were cold - take a hot shower and/or bundle up in some warm clothes and blanket to warm and relax the muscles and remind myself that it is anxiety and it will pass. Do my best to actively tense and release the muscles to kind of gain control over them - if that makes sense.
There have been other times that I was so fed up I simply went outside into the cold and shivered it out - gave myself a rationale reason to be shivering. I stayed out there a few minutes - let my body shake it out/wear itself out - all the while doing some deep breathing and reminding myself that I am in control - not the anxiety. Then, I came back in and warmed up and felt much better.
Talking to someone else that can help reassure me helps sometimes too, but other times I feel better facing it alone.
I always try those natural ways to treat it first and for intense moments that I simply cannot calm down - I do take a small dose of klonopin, but only on rare occasions.
