Sounds like you would be completely isolated. Not good especially since you recently made a big move. You will need support- not just the physical. Keep the changes small. You may find yourself in a worse situation that may be far more difficult to reverse if you don't like it.

I’m my mind, this seems like a disproportionate course of action for a situation that in the big picture is totally manageable. I mean you’ve been living with him for a while, paying him rent, etc. What makes today any different than the last year or so or however long it’s been since you moved in?

Your roommate probably just loves you only as a friend. Don’t make it any more dramatic or deeper than that.

Do you love your roommate more than a friend and do you really want to be in relationship with him that is more than friendship? I’ve never seen you say, I really love this man and want to be in a relationship with him. It’s almost like you would be in a relationship with him if he wanted. So not choosing him but going along with it because he wanted it.

Maybe just stop giving so much weight and thought to what he thinks, does, says, etc. Because honestly, if he really wanted a relationship with you beyond what he has now, he would be different towards you; he would be making an effort. He would show you. It sounds like you have all the information you need to understand where he stands. So there is no confusion unless you make it confusing. Keep it simple.

I’m sure now that you are home more adds to feeling like you need a change of scenery. Totally understandable. Focus. Create some structure, spend time volunteering or managing your well being while you find a job. Wherever you want to live, look for jobs there. None of this is that deep and heavy, or requires extreme actions. Rarely have decisions I’ve made based solely on my emotions vs reason and logic been great decisions.

And I don’t mean this to be harsh but honestly, please find some female friends. In male/female friendships, it requires emotional maturity and a strong sense of independence from both parties for it to not get weird. Having female friendships outside the roommate will help you.

That is just too drastic. I would recommend looking into making things happen for you by studying the law of attraction. It will definitely make you more hopeful. I remember talking to a paralegal at work about the movie The Secret. She told me to go on the website and print out a check from the Universe to write out. I think money did come my way. I told another co-worker about it. She printed the check, wrote it out, and pinned it to her wall. Then she was telling me that her husband made $400 in tips at a small bar one holiday and she didn't know how that happened. I said "You don't?" and pointed to the check on the wall. It worked!

Personally, I'd far rather put up with a roommate than live out of a car, but that's strictly a personal preference. There is no *right* way to approach life. Just gotta pick one and make it work.

But taking advantage of the time between job interviews to explore other regions makes perfect sense to me. Job hunting is all about exploring options, after all.
