General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

My anxiety reared its head again this spring and since then I have gotten it under control...until this week-end. My family and I went to Vegas
Thurs-Sun. Friday morning I woke up anxious...no apparent reason but it has gotten worse each day. I have just continued with my meds as usual. Nortiptyline, clonazepam, and wellbutrin.
I didn't get the sleep I needed, there was a time change, eating differenly, family member stress. Please someone tell me this is just because of a four day life change?? I got plenty of exercise walking. I just woke from a nap and the anxiety was the worse it has been since spring.

Thank you blarecat! Just reading a positive response helps so much!! Once you got back on track things got better?? Yes I could be dehydrated also it was very hot there and instead of drinking water like usual I would do a Starbucks...which I "usually" don't do caffeine or sweetners but I was feeling good that first day and went for the caffeine and sweetener...dumb!

There was a reason for the anxiety. Maybe you didn't really want to go. Maybe you didn't want to do some of the things in Las Vegas. Since I have anxiety, I do not like large, congested rooms, crowds, and a whole lot of noise and lights. I just accept this. That is the way it is. I know a lot of people who do not have anxiety and prefer more nature, relaxing vacations. And of course, the time change, the eating routine, etc adds to it. You really have to listen to your body-eat when your hungry and sleep when your tired. PS and relax if your anxious. Maybe what you really needed was a spa treatment...lol

Thank you all for the comments. They give me hope! We went down to celebrate our sons 21st birthday...had our daughters and their sig. others with and our son's girlfriend, when you get that many family members together there were some "stressful" times. I do not drink so alcohol wasn't a part of the problem. Shemp, I did want to go and crowds have never bothered me but I do think that had something to do with it. It was all just too much.

I went to my counselor today and she said Vegas is probably someplace not to go if you struggle with anxiety. She also said...which makes me love this website even more, cause I heard it from you guys first...is that the lack of sleep and change in time would have a lot to do with the anxiety setting in again. She also felt that once I get back into my same routine with work and meds that I will come around.
