Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
hi, I’m 38 and I’ve probably had anxiety (health)my entire life but has come to a head in the last few years after being put on bp medication. After that, I thought I was going to have a stroke or heart attack, and my anxiety blew up and started having physical sensations of anxiety that scared me more. When I saw the doc for a check up, he put me at ease and even ran some numbers that included my risk factors to determine that it was very unlikely that this will happen in the near future. Recently I had a setback with my health anxiety and then my uncle died unexpectedly of a stroke. Again, even though his risk factors were high, and he was quite a bit older than me, my worry has escalated. When I start to spiral like this, I usually talk to my mom about things because she has a way to put it into perspective. Being that this is her brother that passed, I don’t want to burden her because she is grieving and has enough to deal with.
In addition, I feel guilty because something terrible happened to my family, and it shouldn’t be about me, and here I am scared and concerned about myself.
Im using this post as an outlet for my feelings, and as a way to get some support because I feel alone. Any advice/support would be helpful, I just want to connect with people that may be similar to me. Thanks

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
When it comes to death and grief, it affects everyone in different ways.
Sorry for the loss. Best wishes in finding your way to improving your well-being.
So ? ? ? How 'bout it? ? ? Did making this post help any?
I am kinda wondering about your reluctance to talk to your mother because she is grieving the loss of her brother. Yes, that calls for extra consideration, including the possibility that grief can be more manageable when shared. If you have always been there for each other, why stop now? Kudos for knowing you need to ply extra consideration because of her loss, but? ? ?
Just wondering. . .
Gentle support while you find what works for you.
This was delicate because, I talked to my mom about the death and I support her as she grieves, but deep down I was scared about my own health and I felt I was being selfish. What I don’t want to talk to her about is that my anxiety is up, because I don’t want her to try to make me feel better about something that has nothing to do with me. Focus should be on her, my aunt and my two cousins. Does that make sense? Again, kind of typing this to get off my chest, but I feel better with all the kind words and constructive criticism
An addendum I will add is that it takes a village to live a healthy life. No matter how great your go-to supporter is, it helps to get different perspectives and to have support back-ups for those moments when your angel of mercy is indisposed for whatever reason.
