But anyway, people with anxiety are actually the opposite of crazy. We are not out of control. It is actually our need to be IN control that is at the root of our disorder. We like control so much and feel so comfortable when we are in control that we freak out when we aren't. We have anxiety attacks and panic attacks out of fear that our control is gone...out of fear that we have no power to stop something bad from happening to us. Fear of going crazy is essentially just fear of losing control. The only way past it is to accept that if you really are crazy, you will know soon enough. These things don't manage to stay hidden forever. You just have to live your life and wait for the day when the "crazy" comes and they take you away. Of course, this IS NOT going to happen because you aren't crazy. But adopting this attitude and accepting that you won't worry about it until it happens is how you work your way through this fear.
