Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hello,
I'm 23 and since 1 year, I'm into this awful vicious cycle of anxiety, physical pains and terrible intrusive thoughts... Throughout this year, I've had some scary symptoms which every time trigger my anxiety. This summer I've experienced awful pain on the left side of my head as well as left eye redness and pain..and after a CT and numerous neurologist's appointments, everything was okay, the conclusion was - migraine and anxiety of course.. I have some days when I'm fine and other days when I feel terrible. Two weeks ago, my left arm and leg started aching and I feel everyday discomfort there.. Also, I feel strange pain on the left side of my face, as well as sharp pains near the heart - at the back and at my chest. I went to cardiologist, and my ECG was perfect according to him. However, I experience these awful pains on the left side of my body and I am nervous and anxious about my health..
I'll be glad if someone can express their opinion or just advice.
Is all of this anxiety?!? Because these physical pains make me go mad...

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
First, keep a daily log of how your pain originates, how it travels, and how long it lasts. Doing this will give you the pattern of the 'pain' itself.
Second, keep a daily log of your 'feelings'.
These should be private journal entries, which you use for comparison to help you figure out what you are doing to manage the physical sensations of active anxiety.
Practice even breathing exercises to help you find calm in the moment. Practice distraction to help you find calm in the moment.
You are stronger than you realize.
Best wishes as you find your better balance.
yes, anxiety manifests quite allot of physical symptoms, including the ones you listed here. if your symptoms have started within this past year, i find myself wondering if you are suffering CAS (covid anxiety syndrome) from the global freak show. as we approach the second anniversary of the global shutdown, CAS appears to be the latest pandemic.
just wondering. . .
whatever the specifics of you own case, this is a good place to sort through them and know that you are not alone with them.
welcome aboard.
I think the whole problem is my health anxiety.. I always think about something more serious than just anxiety and probably this is what causes me these scary symptoms.
As to your question about CAS, I am worried a little about the whole covid situation..but I am more worried about these pains in my arm, leg, chest and head. These pains come and go throughout the day and they are distracting me and they make me always think about some serious condition..
I've had some check-ups but I continue to be anxious about this physical pain..
I'll find these books you recommended.
I've recently discovered Emotional Freedom Technique and I'll also give it a try. Hope this helps. I really want these physical symptoms to go away..
Yes..... I to have the heart palpitations, sharp pains weird pains in my head or behind my eyes.....Pains in left arm and side of body they come and go it's tenseness.... mine come and go, but now I try not to give them attention and they will pass.....If you put fearful thoughts they will stay and scare you. You are totally fine just have anxiety:) Deep breaths and do something to get your mind off them.
