Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. Last night, my dad started yelling at everyone while we were eating dinner about the dishes. My Mom and I just got back from our trip and the dishes were piled up. We ended up having to do the dishes because my sisters woudn't do them because of how angry he was. He was yelling until we couldn't handle it and we tried to stop him. He doesn't listen to us. Today, he got after my sister for not having a job.
It's really scary when he's like this. He yells and yells and yells and spits and on our faces as he's yelling. If we try to stand up for ourselves or the people he's yelling at, he gets angry and insults us. Sometimes, as he's yelling, he walks towards us and we tell him not to hurt us and he says he won't but he keeps walking towards us and yelling at us and if we stand our ground he grabs us and starts to pull us and move us to where he wants us. He's really scary.
He takes pictures of us and we tell him not to post them and he says he won't but he does. He complains about my voice. It's high pitched and when I'm in a good mood, it gets higher. Now I'm really self consious about my voice. I really don't like it.
I know that he might be an emotionally abusive father or a toxic father or whatever. I don't know what to do. Please can someone give me advice?

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
i like to think of mental illness/toxicity as a condition all humans suffer at least once in their lives, whether formally diagnosed or knot. ^it^ is a condition, not a character trait any more than colds and cancers are character traits. this little shift in focus allows me to compassionately detach from an attacker's cruelties far enough to continue loving them while neither judging nor taking the cruelty to heart and tending my own healing needs.
rocking you gently and crying with you, christian.
don't rush the recovery time.
be gentle with yourself and patient with the process.
