When I was about 13 I got four teeth removed. Yes FOUR lol I even had some impacted teeth removed which is always more chance for infection and pain. Anyways the taster you are experiencing I had also. I was fine. I took good care of my mouth post op and followed all directions and I was fine. Now back in the day I did not have Anxiety I do recently but I do remember expereince the taste. Don't worry! I know so much easier said than done but you did everything you can. You made an appt to see your specialist and you are being safe than sorry. Tomorrow you will know and your mind will be at ease. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

it helps to do cognitive behavior therapy so (in the future) you can talk yourself down from letting the fear over ride logic and facts.
I promise you won't die from this but I recognize that me saying that probably won't change your thoughts on it.
Seriously you could benefit from a therapy that can help you learn how to take that thought/fear, and logically replace it with a calming thought that is based in reality.
hope I did not get too preachy preachy but trust me when I say I have been there! And still sometimes , my old anxiety sneaks up on me when I least expect it.
(for me, hormonal shifts really seem to trigger mine)
You will be ok. If nothing else, look up how to do deep (slow) breathing.............it is the most effective , quickest way to calm yourself. I can tell you specifically how , if you want me to.

also, it dawned on me if you have such a fear of bacteria, etc, entering your body during dental treatments, you may want to ask the dentist about preventative antibiotics. they may say it's not needed but at least you could have the talk, and realize there are always options out there and you ultimately do have power over your choices. :)
