Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I’m too scared to even begin opening up the way I want to right now. I just wanted to see if anyone out there would even actually care to respond to me if they heard how I felt. Seeing all these helpful comments and the amazing support....it doesn’t feel real that random people would even care to help relate and sympathetize to some random 21 year old. I feel like my story and what’s happened in my life thus far doesn’t matter relative to the rest of the world. Yet I’ve been struggling with intense, full body panic attacks MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY for 18 months. I’m desperate. I’m alone. I would listen to anyone in the world for some REAL guidance, if they actually knew what was going on & could truly help me for even a few hours

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

Speaking strictly for myself, the reason *this* random person cares ". . .to help, relate and sympathize with some random 21 year old" is so that I can feel a little less alone with my own lonely desperation. Those full body panic attacks are harder than hard to be alone with. The support and encouragement I receive from my therapy support network is gooder 'n' pharmaceuticals, legal or illegal.
I hope you find that to be true, as well. Welcome aboard. I hope you'll feel safe to talk freely and honestly about those thoughts and emotions you feel so alone with. You are far from alone.
So sorry your dealing with this and feel so alone. I can totally relate! No one in my life, even my wife, tend to show any compassion or understanding for me and the anxiety/panic I experience.
First of all, you do matter and people do care. Its hard to see when your in an anxious state of mind. Its hard to believe any could understand how you feel. Believe it or not, the anxiety you feel many people are feeling right now.
Second, its only anxiety. I know that sounds condescending but what I mean is, its only a feeling brought on by our state of mind due to some type of stress triggering our sub conscious defense. With patience and time and rest you can get past this.
Third, change the way you think. Look at things as better and not for the worst. Look for good! And if you dont see it, keep looking. The world is a beautiful place and life is a precious gift! Dont waste it. I know how terrifying panic attacks and how hard it is to be optimistic but somewhere someone is going through something way worse. Its the truth. Smile, be thankful, and enjoy something even if its brief. Learn to feel gratitude again.
This is a journey with ups and downs. We tend to focus on the bad feelings of panic and anxieties and forget about all the good times and fond things around us everyday. Anxiety/panic cannot harm you, it sucks for sure bit you are totally safe! Let it flow though you and try not to add fear to the feelings. Get used to being uncomfortable and slowly it will lose strength and your fear response will return to normal.
You've got this! Im here to chat whenever you need as I'm sure other will be too!
Keep moving forward!
John
The more stressful life is, the more pressure I feel. The more pressure I feel, the less I sleep I get...... and the more I talk to myself!
18 months is a long time for you to be suffering. Mine comes and goes. I am glad you are reaching out. It helps to bounce ideas around. Welcome to DS.
