I'm sorry that I've been posting so much. I have been on summer break since mid-June. I haven't gotten a paycheck, other than SSDI, since June 28th. I won't get one until September 15th. I am a Hall Monitor in a school. I am hoping that we keep the same schedules that we had because I really like my schedule. Due to my disability, this job is perfect for me. The hours and pay are perfect, I get exercise, I get bathroom breaks, the kids like me, I feel good about working and I still have energy to go to the gym The only problem with the job is that it is an hour away and I spend about $300 in gas per month. Oh, I get to sit at a desk for a lot of the time. I have problems with standing for long perods of time. I recently talked to my nephew about a job interview that he had in Germany. I told him that it's important to love what you do for a career. He wasn't sure if he would love the job. My favorite job of all time was working as a hostess at a restaurant! It was so much fun! Have a great day! The sun is shining here! My cat got out yesterday because I'm getting a new roof and the roofer came to my door. I didn't even know he got out for sure until I heard him fighting with something around 4 a.m. and then again a little later. I can't wait to get him back in the house.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

hasty, I know what you mean. There is actually an elementary school about 1.5 miles down the road but I doubt if they have the same accomodations as the school that I work at. I like dealing with the high school students. Some of them are in the hallways way too much and use the bathrooms 4 times a day when I'm there. I monitor the bathrooms as part6 of my job. I have been commuting for jobs for years but this is the farthest I've had to go.
Glad to hear you have a job you like. So great the kids like you, it makes it social. But yes, the gas being expensive is certainly a bummer.

Stay on your post, Friend. It sounds to me that you have limited finances but have the wisdom to live within your means to be able to do things of meaning and importance in the world. You know you have a talent for working with young people, and you have a school which supports you being used for maximum impact on students and site needs, and accommodates for your needs in being part of the ed team. PERFECT. Location? Not perfect on first glance, as far as commute expense, but missionaries have similar complications with their placements in high need areas which comes with great personal meaning and investment in the work, and connectedness to people, and personal sacrifice as well as a sense of personal mission. People who don't have the expense of a lengthy commute often ignore adding commutes to gyms or entertainment or other pieces of balancing out the work day, so it is great to grab onto what is workable for YOU, means the most to YOU, and what allows you to connect with OTHERS in such important ways. Holding on tight to positives is a lesson you can teach to every student who has contact with you during the school day, AND a lesson you can teach to every staff member who has contact with you during the day.
