Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

I cannot take antidepressants for my anxiety because they make my anxiety worse and also add a host of other problems with additional side effects. Klonopin works, but I hate taking it because it makes me feel depressed and there is always the issue of dependance/addiction sitting in the back of my mind. These issues keep my anxiety fired up because I feel this it something I cannot control. I went to a new chiropractor yesterday, and I told her about my anxiety problems. She also suffers from anxiety and told me about a product she uses called Rescue Remedy. it is an all-natural homeopathic remedy that has been around for like 60 years or something. When you start feeling nervous you just spray it twice on your tongue. I was not optimistic. I have tried just about everything. But I went to the nutrition store and handed over my $20. I was not expecting it to work at all. A few hours later when I felt it coming on, I used it....and it actually WORKED. It settled me right down and I felt good the rest of the day. Hmmph. Last night I work up in the middle of the night panicking and I used it again. I fell right back to sleep and slept the rest of the night. Holy sh#!. This stuff really works for me (and I have fairly high anxiety).

Hi. Thanks for posting your experience. I am having so much anxiety lately that I think I could die. I am having trouble eating, not sleeping for a full 8 hours and I am near panic sometimes. My sedatives only work for so long. The feeling when they wear off is horrifying. I am really intrigued by your post and I think I would like to try this product. I tried doing some research on rescue remedy and also trying to find where I could buy it right away without having to order it. Did you buy this from a major store chain like GNC or was it like a small time, local nutrition store? Also, I read some articles on this product. One guy who claims to be a homeopathic expert states that this product doesn't really work and any effect you get from it is just a placebo effect. Yet, another article I read from 2007 discusses a double blind study that claims that there is evidence that the product does work well for panic and anxiety. What are your thoughts on this just being a placebo effect? I'd be more willing and trusting of your thoughts since we suffer from the same symptoms and need the same degree of help. I hope I can get this product today. I will go anywhere to get it. ~Michelle

Hi Michelle, I dont know about the placebo effect stuff...I just know that when I used it I did not expect it to work, but it did. It settled me more quickly than the Klonopin and the feeling of calm I got stayed with me for the rest of the day. The person who recommended it to me was prescribed this by her homeopathic doctor. I think there will always be two sides to everything. All you can do is try it yourself and see I guess. I bought this from a small local store close to my office, but apparently it is readily available at most stores that sell nurtitional and supplement products. Let me know how it works for you.

hummm i wanna seek this rescue remedy out, it sounds wonderful. I would be interested in getting it so it could help me through the holiday gatherings. thanks for the positive feed back. I tried xanax for my anxiety and i thought i was going crazy, i would never touch that stuff again. i am taking celexa for my depression which has helped take the edge off of that but i still have those anxiety spells that i wanna get a handle on so thanks again

Can you get this stuff in the USA? Does it have valerian and passion flower or Kava kava in it? I have tried all of those without much effect.

These are the ingredients that are in the Rescue Remedy: Rock rose, Impatiens, Clematis, Star of Bethlehem and Cherry Plum remedies. I don't know for sure if there are variations, but this is supposed to be the Dr Bach formula. I hope this helps. ~Michelle

I've heard of this! I am totally ordering it because you are not the first person to say it works. Thanks for the advice!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
