Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I'm really struggling, my back and leg pain has now progressed into waking up with a dead arm, in addition to that, I decided to take some ibuprofen last night before bed and got my bottle of Lexapro out instead! Thank goodness I realized it was Lexapro and not ibuprofen before I took it. Every morning I wake up I want to rush to the emergency room. I'm not sleeping well, I keep waking up at all hours, stomach in knots. I'm convinced I have some kind of brain/ brain stem cancer, or some kind of neurological condition. My husband is making me mad because he keeps telling me there's nothing wrong.. who can blame him though, after all this is the 200th terminal illness I've had. I'm really struggling with the fact that having anxiety doesn't make you immune to real illness. Is this my anxiety, or is something really wrong??? I feel like a hamster who's stuck on a wheel with no signs of slowing in sight. I'm in a constant state of fight or flight and I'm exhausted.

It's going to get hotter here with Thursday being the hottest. It's noon and 75f feels more like 80 or more.I've been cleaning up the deck in this morning and cleaning the windows outside. Then I cut up a pallet in half, I've decided to call it quits now because I went a bit light headed. Joanne, some drugs we take have an effect on us in the heat, I know a couple of mine do, maybe yours...

This must be frustrating for you. Probably if you had taken a Lexapro, it wouldn't have mattered too much, actually. Do you take Lexapro every day?
I hope you find peace and balance.
Your writing will help you figure out the anxiety. This is something only you can do, as anxiety is natural and is a part of you.
Stop thinking and start doing. Do daily tasks to keep focused on what you can do.
Keep track of your medicine, time you take it, with what, and also draw a stick figure of your pain.
Best wishes as you find your better balance.
Love that - "Stop thinking and start doing"
I need to apply that to a lot of my life, too! :) Thank you.
So much of anxiety is our brains just thinking, thinking, thinking. About things that may or may not happen (speaking just for myself here).
I wanted to be healthier so instead of thinking and talking and dreaming I made a plan and have now lost three stone of my weight - and I was not enormous before - it was hard, it meant no snacks, no big meals, no treats, none of the stuff I had before. I dont see the point of expecting doctors to help if we do not help ourselves. And I had had years of the doctors getting the diagnosis wrong or giving me medicines that made me feel a lot worse.
Getting physical helps get me out of my head. Gentle stretches, walks, etc., help my aches and pains allot more than another consultation with Doctor Google.
But that is me. . .
Gentle support while you find your way through, Kara. Keep venting. Your own answers are in there.
Try Recovery International . It is a mental health organization that will teach you tools to get rid of your racing thoughts.
Anxiety can be crippling. I have suffered my whole life with it. But it sure looks to me like you have so much support and you will kick it.
Love,hugs and support.
OK, so for the Hi-jack of your post. :-(
